Season III Divisions

Sign-ups slammed shut at midnight on 26th December. 32 coaches successfully paid their joining fee and we’ve 6 new coaches joining 26 who’ve returned following Season II.

Moulding the 32 coaches into our divisional pyramid to ensure an efficient season in which coaches are confident of being matched against coaches of similar skill in the context of the divisional promotion and relegation framework has been quite an undertaking. The output from this activity maintains a 3 division league structure as follows:

Promotion and relegation play-off

To facilitate the above structure, 3 promotion/relegation play-off matches must occur as follows:

• Play-off 1: Pete M (Omnissiah) v Tom C (MoltenPheonix). This match has occurred. Tom won out 2-1.
• Play-off 2: Col J (MacPorridge) v Keith (KeithMcFrenzy). This match has occurred. Col J won out 1-0.
• Play-off 3: Steve (Exsk8ersteve) v George (GeoSmi). This match has occurred. George won out 2-1.

These are single matches. If there is a draw at the end of normal time, overtime is played. If there remains a draw following overtime, penalty kicks must resolve the match.

Tourplay rounds

Due to the unequal division sizes, coaches in divisions 1 and 2 will likely see (2) rounds drawn against opponents twice. These fixtures will not be fulfilled; a season is based on playing each opponent once only. Assuming TourPlay behaves as expected, these fixtures will be presented in rounds 10 and 11. Based on this assumption, the final standing for divisions 1 and 2 will be taken following the completion of round 9. To offset the longer division 3 time frame (rounds 10 and 11) there will be no promotion play-offs at the end of season III for the teams in division 3. Teams in division 3 will be promoted based on their final standings after completing round 11.

Roster submission

The deadline for Season III roster submission is 29th January, so the above play-off matches must be resolved by that point. More info on roster submission here:
