1) What’s your name and where do you come from?
I’m Anthony, Ant, Tony, Tone and variation works and I grew up in Bath but live in Trowbridge now.
2) Tell us a little about how you came to play Blood Bowl and your experience in with the game and wider hobby.
Like a lot of us I started with HeroQuest and dabbled with 40k, Space Hulk, Epic etc before coming across the 3rd Ed box in Trago Mills on the way home from a family holiday in the early 90s. The combination or sports, nerdy gaming and the box art (Griff and Morg just looked awesome) drew me too it and it sat on my lap in the car the rest of the way home. I got back into tabletop after playing BB2 on the Xbox for a few years, then in 2019 Mike Davies bullied me on Twitter to sign up for Cakebowl in Swindon.

3) What Blood Bowl achievement are you most proud of?
I’ve got a few, but I guess being an Admin for the biggest Xbox online league for a while was my first. Followed by winning my first ever tabletop league (Season 18 of SAWBBL) with Chaos Chosen and more recently my only tournament win at the inaugural Blood Bath in 2022. That one being in my home town makes it extra sweet.
4) What’s your favourite team and why?
I don’t know that I have a favourite. Elven Union were the first team I painted and have played the most at tournaments, including 9 games at the Alicante World Cup. I like to mix it up although I’ve not played stunties yet.

5) Tell us about the team you’ve brought into Season III. Did you select it for purely competitive reasons, or were there other factors involved?
The might Hjarta Foundation were brought back from Season II. I chose them for that because I’d never played Norse before, I owned them and I thought it would force me to build/paint them. Two seasons in and they are half painted…
6) What was your thought process behind your roster selections, skills taken and how would you describe your playstyle with this team?
I mis-judged the starting roster as I underestimated Valkyries, should have started with both. As for skills, I chose not to take the skill package as I don’t think league play needs it. I like the narrative and want my players to earn there skills as their own stories unfold. Feldr ‘Goblinbane’ is my goblin killing lineman!

7) What are your expectations for this season? Do you have any particular goals you’d like to achieve?Who are you backing to win each division this season?
My goal was just to be competitive in a very strong Div 1. As for division winners, my bet for Playoff Champ is Col and his Vamps, especially now the Vargheist has block (disgusting). I’ve known Sawyerbean for 35 years and will always back him, especially when he has a horrendous Orc team, and my pick for Div 3 is Lovett. I played him in Season II and could tell he was very competent coach.
8) What’s one thing you’d change about Blood Bowl?
Very little tbh. It is what it is, and GW will change it as they see fit. I just roll with the punches. I’m not fond of playing against dwarves, don’t really like wildly inaccurate and I miss guard working on fouls.

9) What Pitch is your favourite (rules, artwork, whatever)?
I like my Alicante pitch for ease of use/transportation, Forge Breaker Stadium was a delight to play on and I love the Winter Themed pitch from BB 2016.
10) Outside of Blood Bowl tell us a little about your life and main passions?
Sports, games and my family. I’ve always loved skiing, football and more recently running. Chippenham Half Marathon coming up in Sept. I like to combine the last two on our family game nights where we play all kinds of things, King of Monster Island, Ticket to Ride, Colt Express etc etc. I’ve also started dabbling in TCGs (not Magic). My boy and I like to collect and trade Pokemon, Star Wars Unlimited and lately a bit of Lorcana.
11) Pirates or Ninjas?
Ninjas! My brother lives in Tokyo and my nephew is half-Japanese, add to that my trip to Ninja (the restaurant, https://ninja-tokyo.jp/en/) and the Ninja themed Blitz Bowl team I painted for my eldest it has be the essence, truth, and wisdom of Ninjutsu.

12) What’s your favourite film?
Tricky one. I’m a Star Wars boy with a fondness for RotJ and Empire, although I really like Rogue One. Shawshank Redemption is my serious film fav, and for pure joy and ease to watch I’d go Dazed and Confused.
Some great answers there. Thanks for sharing Ant😊
