The legendary George ‘Gobbo’ Hayes, first to be enshrined in the Forge Breakers Hall of Fame and last to leave the pub, is lacing up his boots once more! In a move that defies logic, contracts, and common sense, George will take the pitch in every semi-final match… playing for both sides. His fee? Waived. His motives? Questionable. His impact? Undeniable.
FIRST HALF: Gobbo’s Got Your Back (For Now)
- The KICKING team gains the services of George Hayes for the first half.
- George plays exclusively for the kicking team until the whistle blows for half-time.
SECOND HALF: Gobbo Switcheroo
- George swaps jerseys and joins the KICKING team for the second half (he’s got a thing for kick-offs).
- Any injuries George sustained in the first half are shrugged off with a wink and a splash of his infamous magic sponge – rumoured to contain equal parts ale, Troll sweat, and optimism.
EXTRA TIME: Gobbo Goes Rogue
- If the match ends in a draw, coaches roll off to determine which team George will grace with his unpredictable brilliance in extra time.
- Once again, the magic sponge makes its rounds, restoring George to full fighting form.
