Next up in our mini-series of coach interviews covering all our lovely new coaches who joined for Season IV… we sit down with Danny!
1) What’s your name and where do you come from?
My name is Daniel Monzon, and I am from the Canary Islands — seven small islands in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean.
2) Tell us a little about how you came to play Blood Bowl and your experience with the game and wider hobby.
Back in 2010, I saw some guys playing Blood Bowl in my LGS. They were using the old 3rd edition box and offered to teach me how to play.
Sixteen years later, they are some of my best friends, and thanks to them I am part of a great community of players.
3) What Blood Bowl achievement are you most proud of?
There isn’t a specific achievement, but I am really happy about the number of cool people I’ve met thanks to this game.
4) What’s your favourite team and why?
Goblins! There is no better feeling than enjoying the mayhem those little guys can cause on the pitch. My favourite players are the Doom Diver and the Chainsaw Gobbo.

5) Tell us about the team you’ve brought into Season IV. Did you select it for purely competitive reasons, or were there other factors involved?
My brother got me a Lizardmen team one month before the league started, so I had an excuse to paint a new team. To be honest, I’m not sure how to play them yet. I’ve only played two games with them and I’m still learning.
6) What was your thought process behind your roster selections, skills taken, and how would you describe your playstyle with this team?
It was really easy: I wanted the big guy and all six Saurus.
At the moment, my playstyle is still a work in progress, but I’d define it as: praying for the Kroxigor not to Bonehead.
7) What are your expectations for this season? Do you have any particular goals you’d like to achieve? Who are you backing to win each division this season?
I don’t think I’ll win or even make the top three. There are a lot of scary teams in the 4th Division. I think both Orc teams will reach the finals.
I’m also interested in seeing how teams adapt to the new rules.
8) What’s one thing you’d change about Blood Bowl?
I would give Tackle back to Dwarf Linemen. I’d also like GW to add Blood Bowl 7s rules to the main rulebook.
9) What Pitch is your favourite (rules, artwork, whatever)?
The Dark Elf pirate ship pitch. I think it looks great, and I love the theme.
10) Outside of Blood Bowl tell us a little about your life and main passions?
I love building models, especially Gundam. It’s a great way to relax after a long shift in the kitchen. I also play Magic: The Gathering and write one-shots for Dungeons & Dragons.
11) Pirates or Ninjas?
Pirates! I grew up on a small island and have always wanted to explore the sea!
Thanks for sharing, Danny😊
