1) What’s your name and where do you come from?
Steve Graham, I’m originally from a very small town in Northumberland that nobody will have heard of.
2) Tell us a little about how you came to play Blood Bowl and your experience in with the game and wider hobby.
On a trip to Newcastle, sometime in the late 80s, I discovered Games Workshop. This wasn’t the juggernaut of today, but an Aladdin’s cave of wonder for a kid from a small rural town. This coincided with discovering Douglas Adams, Hitchhikers will be a favourite forever. Anyway, enough waffle, in 92 I joined GW and had to paint the teams from 2nd ed, that was me hooked on Blood Bowl.
3) What Blood Bowl achievement are you most proud of?
I’m not sure I have achieved very much in my time! 🤣 I did win a shop league back in the 3rd Ed days.
4) What’s your favourite team and why?
Humans, standard, vanilla humans. They were my first team, I always return to them, I just love the way they play, although not necessarily the way I play them.
5) Tell us about the team you’ve brought into Season III. Did you select it for purely competitive reasons, or were there other factors involved?
I used Amazons for season three, this was partly driven by a disastrous season 2, where I finished bottom of league 3. I found some miniatures I really like and just went from there.
6) What was your thought process behind your roster selections, skills taken and how would you describe your playstyle with this team?
I watched a lot of YouTube vids and read what I could find and just went from there. Not very exciting, sorry.
7) What are your expectations for this season? Do you have any particular goals you’d like to achieve?Who are you backing to win each division this season?
I’m switching teams again, I had intended to go with Elven Union, but Brettonians. I hope to have some fun games and not bore people as much as I did in Season 3. Silent Spark with his Lizards is one to watch next season, especially if he doesn’t reroll. Dabull and Sawyerbean would be my other tips.
8) What’s one thing you’d change about Blood Bowl?
I’m not sure, good question, something that makes Dwarves more interesting?
9) What Pitch is your favourite (rules, artwork, whatever)?
The vampires pitch from GW looks great. I also like my 3rd-party Wood Elf and Dark Elf 7s pitches.
10) Outside of Blood Bowl tell us a little about your life and main passions?
Outside of Blood Bowl it’s football, Newcastle United for all my sins. I enjoy other miniature games, stuff like Saga, and also Necromunda. Airsoft is something else I enjoy. I have recently taken up Disc Golf, which is basically frisbee meets golf.
11) Pirates or Ninjas?
The world will end with a zombie pirate riding a dinosaur fighting a cyborg ninja.
12) What’s your favourite film?
The Princess Bride.
