Our favourite pheasant-hugging country gent is up next…
1) What’s your name and where do you come from?
Mark Lovett – currently Compton Bassett, grew up in Derry Hill.
2) Tell us a little about how you came to play Blood Bowl and your experience in with the game and wider hobby.
When I was about 9/10 we had a little blood bowl league in Derry Hill. It was good fun, but didn’t last long. Picked it back up again during Covid.
3) What Blood Bowl achievement are you most proud of?
I have none(insert violin)

4) What’s your favourite team and why?
Necro – I love how unique the positionals are; every player has a specific job to do, and of course, in my opinion, they have access to the best player in the game. The problem is they can crumble into dust, just ask bob2bass……
5) Tell us about the team you’ve brought into Season III. Did you select it for purely competitive reasons, or were there other factors involved?
I wanted to play a different team than Necro, and I had a choice of 3 painted teams Chaos, lizards or Dark Elves. Fancied using the frenzied females. I regret it a bit as our league is littered with them!
6) What was your thought process behind your roster selections, skills taken and how would you describe your playstyle with this team?
I like the assassin model, so I started with that. Dark Elves you can’t afford everything anyway, so add the blitzers and then fill in. Wanted a tackle piece from the start but apart from that it’s a pretty standard build. The good thing with de is they can do everything, so the style depends on the team you are playing.

7) What are your expectations for this season? Do you have any particular goals you’d like to achieve? Who are you backing to win each division this season?
I don’t know enough of the players to say who will win. I don’t have any goals really, meet some people drink some beer and play some Blood Bowl. Saying that a cheeky little cup run would be nice.
8) What’s one thing you’d change about Blood Bowl?
Easiest question to answer apart from my name. Current KO results. The idea is fine, but some of them are way too powerful. Sending best player off for example. Too much swing on 2 dice that nobody can influence, for my liking.
9) What Pitch is your favourite (rules, artwork, whatever)?
No idea on any of them. Let’s go with the green one!
10) Outside of Blood Bowl tell us a little about your life and main passions?
Football, motorbikes, pubs, chickens, kids, dog, cat and the newest member – a pheasant chick called Phil. O and the wife

11) Pirates or Ninjas?
pirates, as long as they are the Caribbean ones.
12) What’s your favourite film?
As it’s you asking, let’s say Django Unchained
Thanks Mark!
