This week we sit down with our token South African, the big Dawg himself, Jordan!
1) What’s your name and where do you come from?
Hi my name is Jordan Ferguson, I’m from South Africa. Originally born in Cape Town I moved to
Wiltshire back in 2020. I’m from a seaside village called Fishhoek and moved to lovely little Melksham [Ed: Bowerhill is not Melksham!] in Wiltshire four years ago.
2)Tell us a little about how you came to play Blood Bowl and your experience in with the game and
wider hobby
I came to playing Blood Bowl just before COVID hit back in 2020. My experience was very limited at the time and COVID stopped all hobby activities. I only recently learned BB more and nowadays my other hobbies included the other Warhammer games such as 40K & AOS.
When I first started, I learned the hobby from some older players in South Africa. They told me the bits that I know and they helped me along quite well to where I am now… but I picked up more knowledge from players in Bath and other areas.
3) What Blood Bowl achievement are you most proud of?
My greatest achievement and honour I’m most proud of with Blood Bowl… Back in South Africa when I first started I threw teammate twice with my goblins, both landing successfully and scoring touchdowns against an Undead team. It was brilliant; it was my favourite thing I’ve ever done! Second best that is (generally) throwing Halflings, Snotlings & Gnoblars at other players ’cause it is just funny as hell!

4) What’s your favourite team and why?
My favourite team is Ogres and I love them just because they’re wacky, silly, you can do lots of fun
things with them. You can build a sick roster of numbers if you wanted to, or just go full big brutes and take 6 ogre’s… smash some guys, beat them up and they’re just wacky and silly but they’re super strong. They have their weaknesses, but I love them! I’ve lost 40 games in a row but they’ve taught me many things.
Best team ever, Ogres for life! They’re my boys.
5) Tell us about the team you’ve brought into Season III. Did you select it for purely competitive
reasons, or were there other factors involved?
For this season I brought Gnomes. I didn’t bring them for any competitive reason, I just brought them because I thought it would be funny to see what I could do with them. I’d like to show they’re quite competitive and so far I feel I’m pretty good at them. I love how they play, the mechanics they have are quite unique. I didn’t choose them for any statistics, I just was like “hell with it” lets see what happens!
6) What was your thought process behind your roster selections, skills taken and how would you
describe your playstyle with this team?
Reasoning behind my roster was I’ll take Dodge & Block everywhere. I thought I’ll play
them cautiously but when needed I’ll play them aggressively and lean into the wacky aspects stunty teams have. I don’t do the variables, I just go “heck, lets see what happens” that’s my playstyle [ed: and it always bloody works!]

7) What are your expectations for this season? Do you have any particular goals you’d like to
achieve? Who are you backing to win each division this season?
For achievements in this I would like to achieve Frenzy Block trees by the end of the season… an I’d like
to see if I can make a super fox. I’ll maybe try some wacky things towards the end of the season.
For who I am backing for the win for each Division… I would say I have a ‘slim-to-none’ chance but you never know what can happen! I am probably rooting for the Orcs in my division (SawyerBean), or one of the Dwarves… and I will say I will also think Keith’s Renegades have a chance.
8) What’s one thing you’d change about Blood Bowl?
There is nothing I would change about Blood Bowl. How about banning Elves (that’s just a joke). I think BB is generally fine and there’s no rules that need to be changed… although maybe Guard needs to come back to assist with fouling that’s all.
9) What Pitch is your favourite (rules, artwork, whatever)?
My favourite thing is the Chaos Dwarf pitch. Great art and the design is quite clear and it’s quite easy to see.
10) Outside of Blood Bowl tell us a little about your life and main passions?
Above all my passions are painting models Braaing barbecueing streaming going to tournaments and
chilling.
[Ed: Jordan can often be found streaming Blood Bowl on Twitch- Doglobro – Twitch]
11) Pirates or Ninjas?
Ninjas over pirates. Pirates are cool but Ninjas are sneaky assassins so there a lot cooler but pirates
are drunkards so they’re pretty averagely cool as well so I don’t mind.
12) What’s you favourite film?
My favourite movies are ‘Back to the Future’ and ‘Indiana Jones’.
Thanks for sharing J-Dawg!
